Intel has just announced its significant advancements in data center storage technology. The newest advancements include the Ruler form factor for Intel SSDs, Intel Optane technology dual port SSDs, 3D NAND dual port SSDs, etc. Out of these, new Ruler form variable occupies the limelight.
Ruler SSD provides a plenty of storage capacity for a server with lowest required power and cooling needs.
This next generation SSD will utilize Intel 3D NAND tech to store approximately 300,000 HD pictures or approximately 70 years of smooth & continuous entertainment. As a comparison, achieving exact storage using 10TB hard disk drive requires a loaded 100-bay 4U server.
Right now, Intel has refrained itself from giving more information, pricing, and release date of Ruler SSDs.
But it will be a good addition in storage devices because it can store up to 1PB of data with reduced power and cooling effort.
